What is Monad?

Monad is a high-performance Layer 1 blockchain offering up to 10,000 transactions per second with full EVM compatibility. The testnet is now live, giving developers and users a chance to explore its features, dApps, and developer tools before mainnet launch.

Step 1: Set Up Your Wallet

Use an EVM-compatible wallet such as MetaMask, Backpack, Phantom, Uniswap Wallet, or OKX Wallet. If Monad isn’t listed, you can add it manually with these details:

Network Name: Monad Testnet
RPC URL: https://testnet-rpc.monad.xyz/
Chain ID: 10143
Currency Symbol: MON
Block Explorer: https://testnet.monadexplorer.com/

Step 2: Get Testnet Tokens (MON)

To test apps on Monad, you need MON tokens. Visit the Monad Faucet to claim tokens:

https://testnet.monad.xyz

Token amounts vary:

  • 5 MON – for “Full Access” users in Monad's Discord
  • 2 MON – for wallets with 0.01 ETH and an outgoing transaction
  • 0.05 MON – default amount
Faucet resets every 12 hours.

Step 3: Explore Monad dApps
